MEET THE FOUNDER
Tess has been in a love affair with South Africa since she first visited the country in 2008 on a Gap Year, coaching sports in the townships of Port Elizabeth. Since then she has been in a long and adventurous love affair with the country.
South Africa captured her soul and so for the past 12 years she has regularly returned to the country she fell in love with
over a decade ago.
Over the years Tess has travelled extensively across Southern and East Africa. From overlanding adventures, to competitive races across the continent, she has seen and experienced a wealth of craziness.
With her local knowledge of South Africa and Event Management background, she set off on a quest to create an adventure company that will give guests a taste of Africa. By providing a sense of security, she hopes to empower guests with the confidence and freedom to explore the beautiful and diverse landscapes South Africa has to offer, and look beyond the danger element the country has been plagued with. South Africa has a turbulent history, but to Tess it has so much more to offer.
With her determination to live a life she loves and continuous rebellion against how society dictates you should live, selling your soul to a 9 to 5 desk job, Tess used this and her passion for travel as the driving force behind setting up her own company.
And so in 2019, ROGUE TRIP was born.

I want to show the world why I fell in love with South Africa. For me, Africa makes you feel alive. Some say it captures your soul and for me that was definitely the case.
These are just a few of my treasured memories experiencing the delights that Africa has to offer. I want to encourage you all to see and experience the beauty of South Africa, leaving behind the comfort of your homes and enter my world with ROGUE TRIP.

In 2017 I embarked on my biggest adventure yet - competing in an international race across Africa, from Cape Town to Zanzibar using public transport.
Dressed in a tutu as a member of team Three Flamingos, I raced across 6,000 kilometres over two weeks in a bid to win the $15,000 prize fund.
From 28 hours on a slow train across Zambia, getting left behind at a station, to sleeping in a 24hour chicken shop and some rather questionable buses across Malawi, the race was by no means short of an adventure.
The experience was the most intense and exhilarating, yet challenging and rewarding (not to mention bloody awesome) adventures of my life. It was also the inspiration that kick started my idea to start up my own travel company, and inspire others to embark on their own life changing adventure.
